Eastern Annex

Without further ado I am proud to present the first installment of Eastern Annex, our subtle sci-fi short film anthology.

Dawn of Man is the first piece of a larger puzzle that we are hard at work on providing the pieces for you, the viewer, to put together. Next up is the Collectors. Also in the works is a proper place to experience this world, as well as others. More info soon.

Dawn of Man

Hurrah!!! Filming has finished for Dawn of Man. In honor of this milestone, I have posted this one sheet for the film. It is currently in the process of being scored and will be submitted to film festivals post ipso facto. Stay tuned for such announcements. 

In other news, the Collectors has nearly wrapped with its filming and there are two more scripts hot off the presses. This little world we are concocting is growing quickly and we are eager to begin sharing it with all of you.

an untitled subtle sci-fi project

Make no mistake, we are hard at work over here at the P.A.D. Being a fledgling production house with less than zero dollars to spend on food and rent, let alone to actually produce a film, we have little else to do other than to work hard. And so we shall. But what is it that we are so hard at work on? 

It's simple really. We are working on the beginnings of a subtle science fiction world,  within which, we can tell a series of dark and mysterious tales of the obscene. The Collectors was mentioned in a previous post and has provided an impetus for this brave new world we are attempting to bring to life. It is currently in production, as well as a second installment, Dawn of Man. They will both be seeing the light of day come summertime. A third chapter, Two Birds..., will also begin production shortly. 

"How do they do it?!", you ask. Well... it's not easy. No doubt. Be that as it may, we are doing it. And then some. And as soon as we get a little bit further along, we will be more than happy to tell you all, all about how it got done. Until then...

State of the...

Spring is in the air! Off with the coats and sweaters and on with the show! We have a couple projects slated for production this spring. Z , the teaser of which is available for your viewing pleasure, and our latest stroke of genius, the Collectors. The latter is first up on the queue and is scheduled for release in June.  While the first installment of Z, titled "John Boy & Rooster",  should arrive soon thereafter, if not at the same time.

What are these fabled projects? 

the Collectors - A subtle science fiction short film. A visual experience, more than anything, that blends the paranoia of a Philip K. Dick story with the body horror of Cronenberg. 

Z - A series of short films that utilizes a creepy horror convention which begins with the letter Z. You do the math. The only common thread being a specific event, watch the teaser, and each installment telling its own story around that event. We will also be encouraging the low/no budget filmmaking community to participate. More info is forthcoming.

There you have it. More or less.
